This silver chain mail necklace is without doubt a timeless piece of jewellery. A simple rope pattern with a rich detailed surface texture.

Chain mail is a traditional jewellery technique in which I hand make and link hundreds of identical silver rings in a variety of patterns, in this case a perfectly flexible round tube which has the look and feel of a soft knitted fabric. The polished surfaces of individual rings contribute to the complex repeating pattern of light and shade.
